During the meeting, the MP commended Kibwezi East MP Hon. Mwengi Mutuse for sponsoring the parliamentary motion that led to the impeachment of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, arguing that the process safeguarded equitable development for Machakos County.
For his part, Hon. Mwengi Mutuse urged Machakos residents to support President William Ruto's re-election bid in the 2027 General Election.
National Assembly Majority Leader Hon. Kimani Ichung'wah announced that President Ruto had donated KSh5 million to support traders and women operating businesses at Mutituni Market following the completion of the new market.

Meanwhile, Mua Ward MCA Hon. Francis Ngunga criticized the Machakos County Government over the delayed compensation of traders affected by the recent Machakos Mitumba Market fire.
Ngunga claimed the county government has an emergency fund of KSh300 million and urged Governor Wavinya Ndeti's administration to compensate the affected traders, arguing that financial compensation would be more beneficial than relief donations.
