Nyamira County's health sector continues to grow steadily over the years with much effort being put into consideration by the current county government leadership led by His Excellency, the governor Amos Nyaribo.
Today, 1st July 2026, the governor has commissioned a Dialysis Unit with 10 new Dialysis Equipment at the Nyamira County Referral Hospital in pursuit of quality and efficiency in service delivery. This increases the hospital capacity to serve at least 26 patients per day at the Dialysis Unit.
Speaking during the commissioning, Governor Amos Nyaribo highlighted that in this financial year, his government is planning to bring in 10 more dialysis machines to increase the capacity and service delivery to the people.

"I am resolute and strategic in progressively improving our Healthcare System up to the grassroots. Indeed, plans for installation of a new renal unit at the Masaba Subcounty Hospital in Keroka are underway as we progress to facilities in other Subcounties.
The governor also highlighted that his government is in the planning stage of buying an MRI machine for Nyamira County Referral Hospital and CT scan upgrades for Nyamira and Keroka Hospitals, and employing more personnel in the health sector.
