Editorial Policy
Last updated: June 28, 2026
Kenya Signal Room is committed to credible, fair, responsible and public-interest journalism. Our editorial approach is guided by accuracy, context, accountability and respect for readers.
1. Accuracy
We aim to verify information before publication. Where facts are developing, we may update stories as new information becomes available.
2. Fairness and Right of Reply
We aim to present relevant sides of a story where appropriate. Individuals or organizations mentioned in serious allegations may request a right of reply or correction.
3. Independence
Editorial decisions are made based on news value, public interest, relevance and available evidence. Sponsored content must be clearly labelled and should not be presented as independent newsroom reporting.
4. Opinion and Analysis
Opinion pieces represent the views of the author. They may be edited for clarity, grammar, length, legal risk and editorial standards.
5. Sponsored Content and Press Releases
Sponsored articles, press releases, corporate statements, political statements and public notices may be reviewed, edited and labelled. Kenya Signal Room may reject content that is false, abusive, defamatory, discriminatory, unsafe or legally risky.
6. Corrections
Where a material error is confirmed, we may correct, clarify, update or remove the affected content. Correction requests can be sent through the Contact page.
7. Conflicts of Interest
Writers and contributors should avoid undisclosed conflicts of interest and should disclose relevant relationships where necessary.
8. Sensitive Content
We aim to handle sensitive stories with care, especially where children, victims, private individuals, graphic content, personal data or security risks are involved.
