Ol Kalou By elections:Voters stream to polling stations

Ol Kalou by elections are going to be held today Thursday 16th 2026 whereby the competition is between 6 politicians.

The 3 main political parties are UDA, DCP and Jubilee whereby Muchina Nyaga is vying under UDA ticket,Sammy Kamau Ngotho under DCP ticket and Eng. Wilson Kigwa under Jubilee ticket.

For months, UDA have spent over a billion Kenyan shillings on projects across all the 5 wards of ol kalou constituency trying to urge residents to vote for their candidate while DCP side have been helding meetings with no projects to show only promises made to the citizens. Wilson Kigwa have been visiting small groups of people in villages and sometimes conducting rallies and just like DCP party, no projects to show.

The main question is , who is more likely to win in this by elections?

The citizens will decide today as DCP side believe that they have numbers, UDA believe the projects invested here will make the residents vote for their candidate while Jubilee party believe they will win because the party leader is the former president Uhuru Kenyatta who was loved and respected by the people of Ol Kalou.

Time will indeed tell.

In recent past, polls have been conducted by different companies and many polls suggested that Sammy Douglas Kamau of DCP would win with a big margin followed by Muchina of UDA and number 3 Wilson Kigwa of Jubilee but the ground will always hit differently.

The most important thing for the people of Ol Kalou is to act and elect a leader who is visionary,a leader who would fulfill his people's mandate and a leader who would listen to them.

Since devolution,Ol kalou have had only 1 member of Parliament the late David Njuguna Kiaraho who was elected thrice under Jubilee party making him the longest elected leader in Nyandarua county but his death early this year left ol kalou with no member of Parliament, and hence a by elections had to be conducted to fill in the gap.

Ol Kalou have always been the centre of politics in Nyandarua county and today is when they will decide which party will rule them till next year's general elections.
